A team of researchers from City University London and IDEA Lab has achieved a major breakthrough in medical imaging technology. Their new method, called DISYRE v2, significantly improves the ability to detect abnormalities in brain scans. This exciting development will be presented at the prestigious MICCAI 2024 conference.

Medical imaging is crucial for diagnosing and treating conditions like brain tumors and strokes. Detecting anomalies (unusual areas) in these images is essential, but it’s challenging without clear markers. The DISYRE v2 method uses advanced computer techniques to restore images to their healthy state, making it easier to spot these anomalies. This new method is over 10% more accurate than the previous version, particularly in identifying issues in a specific type of brain scan (BraTS-T1).

These new results will be presented at the 27th International Conference On Medical Image Computing And Computer Assisted Intervention From 6-10 October 2024 In Marrakesh / Morocco.
